TweetReplies.com - to FAIL or not to FAIL.

by Michael on January 15, 2009

So I love me some twitter shit. Like seriously - as much as I tried to fight the power on this service when it came out I have to admit I have become a fan of the API and all the crap that people are doing with it. Now today I found this service - @tweetreplies

Now at first I was like “ZOMG thats nifty!”  But then I was like, wait a second - I can sign up whoever I want! Now I am not an evil person, so rather then sign up my big brother for this service as one of his heroes I instead decided to bite the bullet and sign myself up.

So I took the plunge and signed up as Scobleizer. Then went and tweeted some shit @Scobleizer…

So it says I need to wait 10 minutes and then I would start to get my replies…

Now I never got my own shit but I did get a few random Scoble fanboys @’ing him and being delivered into my inbox - so this shit still might be buggy as all hell. Who knows. I did go and remove myself from Scoble cause i dont wanna deal wtih useless dribble.

So I have unsubscribed.

IMO this idea would be great - if you had to VERIFY your email address. For now it can be used to piss people off, stalk monitor someone or actually get your replies in your inbox.

Whatever, have fun.

We are still working with the new setup and emailing with the new html email, so there might be some bugs. But what you say about stalking anyone can just as easily be done with the search.twitter.com tool.

Thanks,
Conrad

Word is bond. thank you for coming to my humble abode.

Can I make a suggestion?

Simply do this, when the person requests that they get twitters emailed to an address. Send the persons email a top secret random generated code, like “3kjsmndksjje” and tell them to go to twitter and drop a reply to @tweetreplies with the code. This will then unlock and confirm the ability to have peoples twitters emailed.

Nice right?

Great idea, just might have been to quick of a launch…

Give up my email (even a disposable one) just to play with a twitter widget?

Thanks.
But no thanks.
