Every Monday night in the late 80’s early 90’s I would stay up past my normal 8 p.m. bed time to gather in front of the glow of the family idiot box to enjoy one of my favorite shows.
This show featured a kid who was so smart he was able to pass medical school by the age of 14 and become a Dr. at a local hospital. Which he would ride his bike too daily to perform surgical procedures & deliver a baby every once in awhile.
Ahh yes, teen star Neil Patrick Harris was “Doogie Howser M.D.” - the kid doctor.
So what the fuck does this have to do with blogging?
Let me remind you.
Everyone who watched this show, I know that alot of you did - lets not kid ourselves. Besides the antics of Vinny Delpino climbing in and out of Doogies window or the teenage love of Wanda, Doogie packed a powerful message, a learning experience in each show. Which he sat at his computer and typed on a blue screen after each episode. Now back then there was no interweb for Doogie to post his gifted message to, but if there was - Doogies blog would have been on the front page of Digg daily or at least stumbled heavily. If there was an internet marketing message in it, Marty would be all over it Sphinn’n it like mad.
So next time you run across a rerun of the good Doc. please by all means watch it - or at least the last 3 minutes of it & take a look into the original blogger.

Is his blog still online?
No Jaan, like the mullet haircut doogie went out in the early 90’s - he was basically overshadowed by the new sound of grunge rock which was emerging from Seattle. There was no interwebs yet, so more then likely his blog sits on his DOS 3.05 based PC on a set somewhere to be lost forever.
DAMN IT!

Sorry, but this is old news: http://blog.sitepronews.com/index.php?/archives/311-Who-Was-the-Worlds-First-Blogger.html
and here i thought i was original. maybe i should make a top 10 list about common SEO mistakes, that hasn’t been done before, right?
Also - that post has like 3 lines about Dr. Doogie Howser - how can you even compare or attempt to disrespect the legacy which is Doogie. That did no justice to the greatness of the knowledge of Dr. Howser and how he packed a powerful message at the end of his show.
michael-
great clever insight…i loved the doogie…how the words came up on the screen letter by letter!
you know, it’s always “already been done” somewhere else-
clearly, your post had way more insight.
cheers

techno music + snow are two of my favorite things… electro is good but my knowledge is only as deep as Benny Benassi.
